Anna's Book

With Anna’s Book, you read your first real book in a foreign language.

You choose the language you are learning and start reading in short, simple sentences. Over several volumes, the language grows with your knowledge, and Anna’s Book accompanies you until you can read ordinary literature for native speakers.

When you understand one page, you understand the next one too, and if you ever get stuck, the English translation is available under each paragraph.

Follow Anna as she grows up, and find your way into a new language with her.

Minä olen Anna. Olen kymmenen vuotta vanha. Asun perheeni kanssa talossa. Talolla on puutarha. Puutarhassa on iso puu. Pidän puusta.
I'm Anna. I'm ten years old. I live with my family in a house. The house has a garden. In the garden there is a big tree. I like the tree.
Meillä on myös pieni koira. Koiran nimi on Ozzy. Pidän Ozzysta paljon. Hän on hyvin nopea. Leikin usein koiran kanssa. Heitän pallon, ja Ozzy juoksee nopeasti sen perään.
We also have a small dog. The dog's name is Ozzy. I like Ozzy very much. He is very fast. I often play with the dog. I throw a ball, and Ozzy runs after it quickly.
Hän tuo pallon usein takaisin minulle. Joskus hän ei tuo sitä takaisin. Silloin juoksen puutarhan läpi ja etsin palloa. Ozzy etsii myös palloa. Me löydämme sen, ja Ozzy haukkuu.
He often brings the ball back to me. Sometimes he doesn't bring it back. Then I run through the garden and look for the ball. Ozzy looks for the ball too. We find it, and Ozzy barks.
Hän on viisas koira. Joskus Ozzy löytää pallon nopeammin kuin minä. Silloin hän haukkuu. Silloin tiedän: Pallo on siellä. Juoksen Ozzyn luo ja näen pallon. Näin leikimme usein yhdessä.
He is a clever dog. Sometimes Ozzy finds the ball faster than I do. Then he barks. Then I know: the ball is there. I run to Ozzy and see the ball. That is how we often play together.
Minulla on myös veli. Hänen nimensä on Mats. Veljeni on neljätoista vuotta vanha. Hän on neljä vuotta vanhempi kuin minä. Hän on isoveljeni. Mats leikkii myös joskus Ozzyn kanssa.
I also have a brother. His name is Mats. My brother is fourteen years old. He is four years older than I am. He is my big brother. Mats sometimes plays with Ozzy too.
